PARIWISATA RELAWAN (VOLUNTEER TOURISM): PERKEMBANGAN, AKTIVITAS DAN MASYARAKAT LOKAL

Abstract

One of the forms of tourism that experience significant development in the
recent years is volunteer tourism. The development has attracted both-the
industries as well as researchers in tourism sector. Volunteer tourism started
when the establishment of Volunteer Services Oversees (VSO) and US Peace
Corp which send volunteers to less developed nations for development. The
volunteers can be involved in different areas like archeology, biology, constr
uction, teaching, and conser vation. Compared to other forms of tourism, it
is considered as an alternative, sustainable, culturally aware and environmentally
friendly form of tourism which take into consideration and benefit the local
community. However researchs in different aspects of volunteer tourism need
further be conducted.
